Constitutional Meeting of the Young Professionals Committee

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce hosted the constitutional meeting of the Young Professionals Committee of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia for the period 2018-2020.

Building upon the best practices in the World Petroleum Council network, the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia is strongly devoted to promoting and supporting the activities of young professionals under the age of 35 engaged in the oil and gas sector through its Young Professionals Committee.

While the General Assembly of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia elected Nastas Mihajlović (LUKOIL Serbia) as President of the Young Professionals Committee on 31 January 2018, the constitutional meeting on 5 July 2018 confirmed the mandates of the Young Professionals Committee , representatives delegated by their respective companies and institutions that are members of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia.

The Committee of Young Professionals unanimously elected Boris Samardžić (NIS), Slavica Ris (PE Transnafta) as vice-presidents and Tamara Šereš (NIS) as Secretary General of the Young Professionals Committee.

The first joint activity of the newly formed Young Professionals Committee team shall be organization and hosting of the international conference “Tomorrow’s Leaders Symposium”, to be held in Belgrade on 16-17 September 2018, under the auspices of the World Petroleum Council.

The primary aim of the Tomorrow's Leaders Symposium, an initiative launched by the World Petroleum Council in 2014, is to bring together diverse groups of high potential young professionals and senior leaders from the energy industry and government organisations for cross-sectorial knowledge exchange. The WPC Tomorrow’s Leaders Symposium in Belgrade will be the third WPC event, following highly successful events held in London 2014 and Budapest 2015.

With “Downstream Landscape Transformations” as the focal symposium topic, the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia and its Young Professionals Committee will be delighted to welcome partner organizations from the WPC network, to discuss the future of European downstream together with renowned experts from leading oil and gas corporations, consultancy firms and universities.
