Transferring best EU practice in the field of waste oils management – final WASTEOILFREE project event held in Belgrade

The Second Capacity Building Training Workshop of the WASTEOILFREE project was held on 19 October 2018 in Belgrade at the Serbian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Following joint activities in the framework of the WASTEOILFREE project conducted since the official launch of the project in February 2018, the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT) in cooperation with the Czech Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (ČTP SusChem) delivered the second and final training workshop to a group of representatives of the beneficiary institutions – the members of National Petroleum Committee of Serbia, the Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Serbian Ministry of Environment Protection, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade, as well as the representatives of oil and gas companies from Serbia.

The workshop was a great opportunity for networking of experts in the area of waste oils management. Central part of the workshop was dedicated to the discussion on the issues of greatest interest for project beneficiaries from Serbia, covering different topics within the waste oils management value chain and identification of shortcomings where the improvements are still necessary, with the aim of drawing joint conclusions.

The last phase of the project will be dedicated to the finalization of the project Report with the proposals for the enhancement of Serbian waste oils management framework based on the needs of Serbian partners and best practices applied in Czech Republic – this task will be done jointly by Serbian and Czech partners.
