Second BIOGOS Еxpert Workshop

BELGRADE, 26 June 2014 – Second expert workshop within the project “BIOGOS – Implementation of the Directive 2009/28/EC in the field of bio-fuel and transport in the Republic of Serbia – transfer of good practice” was held in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on 26 June 2014, within the organization of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia – World Petroleum Council“.

The expert workshop gathered representatives of the NPCS (National Petroleum Committee of Serbia) members, government institutions and agencies, as well as companies from Serbia and abroad. Main topics of the workshop tackled drafting of national laws and by-laws in the field of bio-fuel, sustainability criteria in the production and use of bio-fuels, as well as potentials and limitations of the production of bio-fuels in Serbia. Also, participants of the workshop had the opportunity to get familiarized with the monitoring and reporting procedures of bio-fuel producers in Croatia, as well as to discuss the possibilities of introducing bio-fuel for the use in motor vehicles. BIOGOS project was prepared in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding of the Zagreb University and co-financed from the funds of Central-European Initiative. One expert workshop has already taken place within the project by mid February, and a study tour to Zagreb has been planned, aimed at transferring examples of good practice in the field of practical regulation of bio-fuel market in Croatia.
