Final FUELPAGE Training Workshop on Fuel Quality Monitoring

BELGRADE, 20 September 2016 - As part of the continuous cooperation of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia with national authorities on strengthening the market of petroleum products in Serbia, the final workshop in the framework of the FUELPAGE project took place on 20 September at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Belgrade. The workshop was dedicated to the central project topic – fuel quality monitoring.

Delivered by the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT) in cooperation with the Czech Association of Petroleum Industry and Trade (ČAPPO), the workshop attracted wide attention among representatives of Serbian project partners - the Market Inspection of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, representatives of members of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade.

The introductory session of the workshop entailed addresses by Ivana Hlavsová - Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Serbia, Lidija Stojanović - Assistant Minister and Chief Trade Inspector of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, Petar Škundrić - President of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia, Milan Pospišil - Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development at University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague and Snežana Ristić - Head of Division for Legal and Economic Activities in the Field of Crude Oil, Petroleum Products and Natural Gas, Oil and Gas Department at Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia and Goran Radosavljević – Secretary General of the National Petroleum Committee of Serbia.

The workshop centered around the discussion on questions of highest interest to Serbian project partners, through covering different issues in the whole chain of fuel quality monitoring and identification of elements of the system where further improvements are needed. The event was also a good opportunity for professional networking of experts in fuel quality monitoring.

The Czech partners presented the detailed procedure of the Czech Trade Inspection in the process of fuel quality monitoring and provided responses on the questions of highest interest to project partners that have been defined in the course of project implementation. The questions centered around the detailed presentation of the Czech inspection procedures, sampling procedures, tolerance limits and the categorization of fuel quality parameters deviations. The basis for the discussions was the existing practice in the field in the Czech Republic and Belgium.

The workshop presentations delivered by the Czech know-how providers UCT and ČAPPO:

The results of consultations among project partners during the project shall be basis for the formulation of the Final Project Study with proposals of measures for the enhancement of the fuel quality monitoring framework in Serbia.

The FUELPAGE project is focused on the transfer of experience and good practices from the European Union and the Czech Republic with the aim of improving the efficiency of quality monitoring of petroleum products in Serbia. It is co-financed through the CEI Know How Exchange Programme (CEI KEP Italy) of the Central European Initiative, as one of the instruments for the exchange of experience aiming at maintaining balanced economic and social development within countries of this regional organization that brings together 18 countries of Central, Eastern and South East Europe.
